CUFF BRACELETS - Turn basic into bold. Bigger is better. Colorful cuffs make a big accessory statement this spring. CNS Photo courtesy of Target.
Sometimes when you get dressed in the morning you just need to make a statement. Let's face it, you can wear the classic spring combo - the white jacket and black pants - but you need a little more bling for the boring not to become so basic. The message is clear this year: the bigger the better. And the easiest way to bring your clothes to life is to add some high-impact accessories.

Here are a few fast ways to make a big statement and add a new hip touch to your wardrobe this spring with accessories:

- The statement necklace: It's big and bold and just waiting for you to layer it around your neck. From the eclectic mix of multicolored geometric gemstones to the quirky mix of charms and beads, these jewels are layered and long or twisted and short, showing off spring's bare shoulders.

- The statement bracelet: It's all about the cuff this spring. They're big and bold. Candy-colored and embellished with butterflies or bees, or high gloss enamel and studded with crystals.

Whatever your style, there's a bracelet out there just waiting to get its cuffs around your wrist.

- The statement cocktail ring: Aren't these fun? The rings can be as big as you dare to go and still be able to maneuver around a computer keyboard. The newest ring settings reflect a back-to-nature trend detailed with natural stones and whimsical insects.

- The statement handbag: You don't have to spend big bucks to buy the "it" bag this spring; there are plenty of bags out there ready to make a big impact for you and your wallet. The best are soft and slouchy in pale pastels, vivid brights, shining metallics, or even black and white. And while the big carryalls are great for day, switch to a statement-making envelope clutch for evening - textured ones are the newest looks.

- The statement shoe: You may just want to bring some of these shoes home and admire them on a shelf. Forget wearing them - these sculpted heels are great eye candy.

But in the real world, at least pick up a pair of bright-colored patent peep-toe pumps or sandals and wear them with everything. They are a great way to perk up neutral-colored office attire. For everyday wear, look for oversized jewels and embellishments on thong sandals.

- The statement belt: With the focus on the waist this year belts are key. The big and wide belt wraps it up on tailored dresses, jackets, vests or even jeans. For cocktail time, change into a skinny jeweled belt for more impact.

- The statement sunglasses: Bigger is better here too. We all know that those oversized shades have made a statement on stylish celebrities and famous women for years. So pick a pair with a little bit of a retro edge. Maybe in a bold color that doesn't overwhelm your face but compliments the shape of it.

- The statement hat: Whether it's a funky straw fedora, a perky trilby or a floppy, big-brimmed Panama, the cat in the hat is back for spring and summer. This is one of the best ways to make a big style statement instantly.
